For this logo, I tried to take the idea of a still pond, and represent it visually as simply as possible. I also wanted to convey the pond going from rough to still, to show a sense of positive progression.
One of the things these type of new-age businesses do a lot of with their identity is to make their branding overly literal. For instance, they would show I detailed illustration of a "still pond". Instead of showing a clear representation of a still pond, I chose to try and impart that idea and feeling through a simple set of shapes. I believe this method results in something far more timeless and elegant.
